During May we’ll explore the powerful imagery of Polish cinema with five films by some of Poland’s most brilliant and praised filmmakers.

Mother Joan of the Angels
A priest is sent to a small parish in the Polish countryside which is believed to be under demonic possession and there he finds his own temptations awaiting. Director Jerzy Kawalerowicz's ultimate masterpiece is one of the most profound and rewarding Polish movies ever made. Based upon a novel by the foremost Polish writer Jaroslaw Iwaszkiewicz, it plunges deeply into the intricacies of human psyche and existence, touching upon philosophical and theological issues with astonishing images provided by splendid cinematography and acting.
