Palestine and culture. Two words that might not be connected immediately in our minds. The Dutch mainstream media and government tend to have a one sided view on the Palestine/Israel issue. But what is the opinion of Dutch citizens and how diverse is it?
Three Dutch artists will present their own views on Palestine during the festival. Discover the personal stories of their paintings and find out what your opinion is about Palestine.

Three Palestinian women sharing an apartment in the vibrant heart of Tel Aviv find themselves in a complicated balancing act between tradition and modernity, citizenship and culture, fealty and freedom.

The film depicts the lives of Arab-Israeli women who live in a country that considers them not Israeli enough, and yet are part of a culture that views them as not Palestinian enough. Layered onto their citizenship conundrum are the inevitable gendered tensions between contemporary and traditional family life.

“After watching Maysaloun Hamoud’s sparkling, taboo-breaking first feature, audiences will have to seriously update their ideas about the lifestyle of Palestinian women in Israel. [...] all this in a breezy, light-hearted dramedy of girl power.” ― The Hollywood Reporter
